***If you are having trouble with your entry we will be leaving the entry website open until Monday 24th February.***
To celebrate the diverse range of skills required for marketing, for this year's campaign, we've been asking marketers what their childhood dream job was - the qualities required for that job may well be what makes them a great marketer. Here's a few of our favourites -
Ruth Mortimer, Editor, Marketing Week
Antony Lea, Head of CRM, notonthehighstreet.com
Nathalie Turpin, Head of Marketing, YouGov
Tell us yours here and you could be in next week's issue.
The Marketing Week Engage Awards are back for 2014, offering you a chance to shout about your marketing successes and showcase how you achieved them to our line-up of inspirational industry judges.
But what’s new for 2014?
New entry deadline. We’ve always had a few gripes from the industry that the deadline for entries has always fallen in January, which isn’t ideal for anyone. This year we wanted to give you a bit more time to gather your case studies after the festive break and so the extended deadline is Friday, February 21st.
New ceremony date. This year the Awards will take place on the evening of Thursday 26th June 2014, which is at the end of our annual Marketing Week Live event, giving you the perfect opportunity to round off two days of learning with a party to celebrate with the great and the good from the industry. Plus, it’s on a Thursday – hooray! (Book the Friday off.)
New categories. We’ve spent quite a bit of time reviewing the list of categories this year to best represent the great breadth of work that has been produced in the last year. Take a look at them here.
New keynote speaker. Don’t panic, we’re not talking about an hour presentation to delay the party but someone who can inspire you for your year ahead in marketing and kick off the party. More details to be announced soon.
New awards campaign focused on you. This year, we will be making the diverse skills of marketers our theme for the awards. What does that mean? From astronaut to ballet dancer, we’ve noticed that marketers’ childhood dream jobs involve many of the skills that make them such professional marketers today. So while you may not be up in space, your calculated, innovative and pioneering marketing is what makes your campaigns out of this world. We’d love you to contribute to the cause by showcasing what a talented and varied bunch you are – tweet us your childhood dreams with #marketingtalents and we’ll make you the stars of our awards marketing campaign.
And that’s all! I look forward to seeing all your great work and celebrating in a room full of talented people (after all, 1300 talented people joined us last year) on the 26th June 2014.
